NYC / New Jerzee

So, our NYC show was a breath of fresh air. Ok, maybe not garbage smelling dirty air… But we love it. We played the highline ballroom for the last show of the tour with Reece/blackgold/& Sherwood. We did a few meet and greets with fans/label, and an interview with “Artisan News” before the show started. It was St Patty’s day, but no we did not go out after. Don’t get me wrong. If there wasn’t a 7:30am wake up call in cards, then it wouldve been on like donkey kong. But alas, morning came too early, and off we went to Fox News. We played “bleed” and “I like to dance” acoustically, did an interview, then our car headed back to the hotel in JERSEY. We(the band) however, vetoed the comfortable ride back in the escalade, in order to not be in NYC without going shopping for a least a little bit. One of my friends met up with us and showed us around Bryant Park, SoHo etc. Jamie got some pretty bawlin kicks, Rk and I may have spent way too much $$$$, and Ian was just happy with his burrito(and clothes. Don’t worry. He didn’t spend it all In one place). Due to having to wake up soooo early that morning, and that the next day would be more of the same, we decided to head back and pass out early… But Noooooo. Apparently there’s a flat rate to jersey, and no cab wanted felt like it was worth it to take us there. So we walked around till our feet were blistered trying to figure out how to get back. We ended up killing time through happy hour at Whym. I wish I could tell you where it is, as the drinks are pretty incredible, but we were lost. Finally we asked some firefighters how to get off the island, they told us(after asking “whaddya wanna go to jersey for anyway?”) to go down a bajillion blocks to Port Authority(bus terminal). The bus ticket was $3! And we almost split a $55 ride over there in a car. Now, it seems like we’re fairly home free, but Rk and Jamie hopped on the wrong bus, and had to get off and wait for another 30 minutes! The next problem was due to us being idiots and not realizing that the bus doesn’t have stops. You just let it know where you need to get off, which we almost didn’t do. THEN(yeah the story continues) we get off, and proceeded to take the worst route back to the hotel. We walked up to the end of a street, went down SEVERAL blocks on a dark sketchy street. The kind that makes you feel like you’re about to be mugged. To our right we see a concrete staircase that we’ve been told to take in order to get to the hotel that we’ve all but given up in ever finding. We trek the stairs, and just like the scene in “Homeward Bound”, we see the glowing sign that indicates our sleeping quarters for the night. It only made us feel better until we realized we had to walk a mile… Down the interstate, in order to get there. I promise I have never been more tired and ready to take a shower and go to bed! But hey, I got some cool clothes, and now we’re off to Minneapolis. I’m a huge Prince fan, so it’s always cool playing in that town. Till next time. Aka 1000 mi drive.
